Welcome to Mushroom Identification & Foraging for Beginners!

This course will give you an introduction to mushroom biology and ecology, the basics of identifying and collecting mushrooms, and information on how to start foraging mushrooms on your own.

Wherever you are in your mycological journey, I'm sure that you'll find some use and enjoyment in the content that I've assembled here. And of course, if you have any comments or suggestions, please don't hesitate to share them. Thanks for participating!

Course Structure

The course consists of 3 sections covering general information about mushrooms, mushroom identification, and mushroom foraging respectively.

Each section is divided into lectures composed of text and images, after which there is a short quiz to test your knowledge of that section.

I have endeavored to make the course as engaging as possible (and videos are planned for the future) using just text and pictures for delivery. However, I encourage you to continue learning by venturing out and getting some hands-on experience. Find a friend to learn with, connect with fellow mushroom enthusiasts, and consult local experts whenever possible.

Near the end of the course I will provide some information and resources on how to do just that!
